Van Geenen is very proud of the contribution it has made to the exterior of Café Lapérouse, one of the most prestigious locations in The OWO in London. The OWO, located in the former Old War Office building, is a Grade II*-listed property that has undergone a grand transformation and is now home to 9 destination restaurants and 3 bars, a 120-room Raffles London at The OWO, and 85 Raffles-branded residences. Café Lapérouse is a shining centerpiece in the Grand Courtyard of this destination.
For this exclusive Parisian restaurant located in The OWO’s Grand Courtyard pavilion, we carefully hand-polished approximately 100 3D-formed panels to a Mirror 8 finish. The panels were supplied in various thicknesses: panels for the outer edge were 20 mm thick, while the remaining panels were made of stainless steel just 2 mm thick.
Polishing damaged stainless steel
The task required a great deal of concentration and patience, as the panels had already been formed before arriving at Van Geenen. The forming process had left the 3D parts dull and full of imperfections. It was up to the experts at Van Geenen to process these into a beautiful high-gloss finish. As seen in the photos, we succeeded!
After polishing, the panels were assembled into a striking whole that perfectly matches the luxurious and stylish ambiance of Café Lapérouse. The establishment, with its elegant and contemporary décor, offers guests a cozy space in an environment that combines both classic charm and modern accents.

Our polishing work not only enhanced the aesthetic quality but also contributed to the overall elegance of the interior. The panels give Café Lapérouse an extra dimension, and our craftsmanship is clearly reflected in this.
