Van Geenen in ALURVS: ‘Innovation in High-tech Cleaning’

Published on: 9 October 2024, Rijssen

Van Geenen, based in Rijssen, has recently taken an important step in expanding their capabilities in high-tech surface treatment and assembly. With the construction of a new 218 m² cleanroom, in addition to their existing cleanroom facilities, they are ready to meet the increasing market demand for high-quality and specialized services. This expansion is not only a response to the space shortage that Van Geenen experienced but also a strategic move to further strengthen their position in the high-tech sector.

High-Quality Environment for High-Quality Products

The new cleanroom, which has an impressive height of 5 meters, meets the ISO Class 6 standards. This achievement is even more impressive considering that the space was originally designed for ISO Class 7. Thanks to careful calibration, the space is now suitable for even higher purity levels, making Van Geenen’s cleanroom one of the most modern of its kind.

To facilitate working with large and heavy parts, the cleanroom is equipped with two mobile gantry cranes, each with a capacity of 2 x 1 ton. This allows Van Geenen to safely and efficiently move parts weighing up to 4 tons within the cleanroom. Moreover, the cleanroom is directly connected to the cleaning room, enabling a seamless transition from cleaning to further processing or assembly.

Investing in Knowledge and Quality

A cleanroom of this size and specification requires staff who are well-versed in the latest standards and requirements of the industry. For this reason, six enthusiastic Van Geenen employees will soon be trained to update their knowledge and ensure they can work optimally in the new facilities. This investment in training underscores Van Geenen’s commitment to continuous improvement and delivering the highest quality to their customers.

Patrick Borkent, Cleanroom Manager at Van Geenen, shares his enthusiasm for the new cleanroom, built by ColPro B.V.: “We are proud of the result. It is fantastic to see how Van Geenen adapts to market demand. I can’t wait to grow even further with these new facilities and better serve our customers.”

Flexibility and Collaboration

The new cleanroom offers space not only for cleaning and packaging according to grades 2 and 4 but also for assembly activities. These services are performed in compliance with the strict standards set by major names in the high-tech industry. Additionally, Van Geenen offers the possibility to rent out the cleanroom to customers who want to perform specific cleaning or assembly tasks in a controlled environment. This makes the cleanroom not only a valuable addition for Van Geenen but also a potential source of added value for their customers.

The existing, smaller cleanroom will remain operational and will mainly be used for treating smaller parts and ultrasonic cleaning according to the same strict standards (grades 2 and 4). This dual structure allows Van Geenen to respond flexibly to the diverse needs of their customers, ranging from small, delicate parts to large, heavy components.

Responding to Increasing Demand

The construction of the new cleanroom comes at a time when demand for advanced cleaning and assembly services is rising rapidly. Particularly in the high-tech sector, where increasingly smaller chips require increasingly larger and more complex machines, there is a growing need for specialized facilities like those of Van Geenen. The new cleanroom enables the company to respond to these market developments while further building its partnerships with customers.

Van Geenen: Ready for the Future

With the new cleanroom, Van Geenen is not only ready to meet current demand but also to grow further in the future and expand their service offerings. The combination of advanced technical facilities, well-trained staff, and the possibility of collaboration with customers makes Van Geenen a leading player in the high-tech surface treatment sector. Their ongoing pursuit of innovation and quality ensures that they, and their customers, are ready for the challenges of tomorrow.
